Turn to the Left

When you're a slave to public transportation in the city, you come across certain individuals who often travel the same route that you do.  Rarely does this lead to interaction, but it happens that these people probably see you too, and are aware that you share this daily/weekly/however often commute with them.

Lately, I have noticed a newbie on my route.  She is for sure what you'd call 'Rockabilly'.  Brows are tatted on, lipstick's so red that you've no choice but to double take.  Her hair is shaved up the sides and pulled into a poof in the front.  And of course, she pulls off great boots.  Seeing this person makes me question why I couldn't live a little more courageously, fashion-wise.  Am I sincerely scared to try new things?  Makes me want to stray from digging through the heaps of clothes that are on my bedroom floor to find whatever will be warm enough to wear that day.

I'll start by changing my need to dress for comfort.
I'm a girl.  Maybe I should try posing as such.
I love this coat.  A serious style upgrade from my solid black puffy jacket with over-sized faux fur hood and many extremely functional pockets.  Found her here.

Moving on, I am terrified of jewelry.
Mainly because I'm small.  Everything looks so enormous and 'Zsa Zsa'.
These aren't huge, aaaand they're are made from recycled materials!
Pieces that I choose to wear have to mean something to me.

Yikes.
Dear scarf collection: This is what you're doing.

This is what I'd like you to do.
 Found on poshposh. Lovely.

I am extremely insecure of my legs.  I think they look like chicken fries.
What a dick I am.  I have legs, and can use 'em.  And dresses are made to show them off.
Ooh. ae.

Here's the kicker. Boots?

.
Skinny calves or NOT.

Oh, man.  Hats.
I make goofy faces when I wear them so you'll laugh at that,
and not how ridiculous I look.

And it will probably be the only thing that I am not fully able to change.

I guess I do have insecurities.  But they make me ME.
So I love 'em.

Yeah.  This year, I'll get to hats.
