I recently learned that one of my friends had a sweet little inside joke with a long ago girlfriend, that would involve slapping the other's butt cheeks to get them to wake up in the morning. While doing so, they would whisper, "How's ya buuutt?".
Yeah. I know, some gag, some giggle... It just makes me remember that when you're in a relationship, you throw every ounce of shame out the window when trying to make your significant other laugh. You do things that you'd never want other people to know about. Or blog about. [Sorry bro, this is research.]
I am pretty Crohn's-sick right now. Down in weight and depressed on the daily. I see girls everywhere lately in lovely, flowing sundresses. I wish I could be out with friends shopping, or at the beach. Until I am strong enough, I have to stay inside and rest. Not to mention, the public restrooms in Boston aren't as reliable as you'd think...
One of the most important things to remember when you're sick, is that most of the bullshit that you go through is temporary. You lose weight, strength, and even friends. But if you can keep your chin up long enough to fight back and find a healthy balance again, you'll be fine. You'll be in a better place when you wake from the nightmare.
And someone will appreciate the bum you grow back.
I promise.
