I know it has taken some time to post, but this Memorial Day, some super cool friends invited me to their super cool camp in Winchester, MA. for a super necessary getaway.
We pulled up to a small, lovely house in the woods. It was nestled in with other lakeside cabins, each with much personality.
Everything was bright, airy, and totally comfy.
Dude.
The first thought that I had about 'camping on a lake' was that I'd need a good bathroom, for sure. This one was darrrling.
There were so many windows, that I felt outdoors the whole time. Breezes came through open screens, and the smell of the water was awesome.
Though, I was still terrified to even dip my toes in.
After the fellas lowered the dock, I changed my mind.
Because nothing can bite your feet if float above a bed of noodles... right?
We cooked up some yummy campin' food. There was even an on-site grill master!
[or something like that.]
But the most important part was baked indoors.
This Memorial Day turned out to be fantastic! New friends, good food, and lots of laughing.
And board games!
All in all, a very pleasant and relaxing weekend. I don't know how a girl from the Gulf coast of Florida had the most intense feeling of peace in her life-- by a lake, but I'll take it.
And more cupcakes, please.
