Pre-Gaming

Last week, some chums sent out an email suggesting a group outing in Harvard Square, full of drinks, bad Chinese food, and heaps of terrible, well-known karaoke songs.  These are a few of my favorite things.  However, since I can't usually partake in them anymore, I decided to invite these chaps over for a pre-game session at my house.  This way, I'd get to see them, we'd have our usual giggles, and I'd still be able to lay sideways on the sofa if I started feeling crummy.

That's myself and a good friend named Garrett in the foreground.
He's also got Crohn's, and we often talk about our issues.  It's SO great being close
enough to share everything with someone who is going through the same junk.

We ordered Indian food and played video games, while making fun of each other and sampling beer.  I guess I shouldn't reeeeally say 'we'.  I took teeny sips of a couple of beers and a few bites of chicken tikka masala.  [Sometimes it comes out just right, but other times it can burn the taste buds right off of my tongue.]

It is always a really great option, when you're not feeling so hot, to have people come to your place.  If you're sick and want to go out but can't- and it is impossibly difficult to listen to your body tell you that sometimes- being in your comfy place with the people that you love before they go somewhere that might end up hurting you further is always an awesome option!  Who cares if taking the T will disorient you or put you in hysterics about not being close to a bathroom?!  Eff it!  Stay close to your own bathroom!

On a side note, this morning when I went to the bathroom, I was bleeding.  My GI told me before my Prednisone treatment that it might not even work, but I wanted to badly to stay away from Biologics like Remicade, that I just HAD to go my own route.  I am second guessing everything.  If I can't get it together and wind up with a decent treatment soon, I'm going to be in some serious trouble.  Let the Medication Research again commence!

Oh... and in all seriousness here, the next time you order Indian food, check out the Nan with the coconut in it!!!
